L.G. Everist, Inc., founded in 1876 produces and supplies sand, gravel and quarried stone throughout the Midwest region of the United States. The L.G. Everist Midwest Division reaches from Kansas City to Fargo along the I-29 corridor and the Mountain Division spans the front range near Denver and Colorado Springs. L. G. Everist, Inc. owns Ace Ready Mix, D&I Railroad and Myrl & Roy's Paving, all based out of Sioux Falls, SD. These subsidiaries along with 16 locations in the Midwest Division and 6 locations in the Mountain Division allow L.G. Everist, Inc. to serve a vast customer demand over an eight-state region.
Quality aggregate materials is what L.G. Everist, Inc. specializes in; safely mining and producing alluvial aggregates as well as quarrying and crushing granite and quartzite. Aggregates are produced for asphaltic concrete, PCC concrete, road base, erosion protection, railroad ballast and a vast list of other applications, all to meet multiple Federal, State, and local agency specifications.
L. G. Everist, Inc. owns and operates numerous transload facilities strategically placed in both the Midwest and Mountain Divisions. These facilities receive rail shipments of products and place on trucks for the local "last mile" delivery. Transload capabilities and current activities include: aggregates, dry bulk fly ash, cement, lime products, barley, salt products, liquid calcium chloride, magnesium chloride, lumber, glycol, crude oil and frac sand and everything in between.
In conjunction with the mining operations in the Mountain Division, L.G. Everist, Inc. has repurposed many of their mine sites as water storage reservoirs for their final end of mine life use. These water storage reservoirs provide the Colorado Front Range with much needed water supply storage which feeds residential, commercial and Industrial needs for the local municipalities and private owners who end up operating these reservoirs.

Two concrete pump trucks also make up the fleet to assist with concrete placement when a long reach is required.
The Dakota and Iowa Railroad ("D & I") was created out of the abandoned bits and pieces of the bankrupt Chicago, Milwaukee and St. Paul Railroad in 1980. D & I Railroad is a wholly-owned subsidiary of L. G. Everist, Inc., owners of one of the largest privately-owned fleets of railroad equipment of any aggregate producer in North America.
The D & I operates from Dell Rapids, SD to Sioux City, IA on company controlled track and via trackage rights with BNSF Railway. Service is offered to Dell Rapids, Sioux Falls, Canton, Beresford, Hawarden, Sioux City, and all locations in between.
The D & I interchanges traffic with the BNSF Railway (BNSF), the Canadian National Railway (CN), and the Union Pacific Railroad (UPRR) in Sioux City, IA. In addition, the D & I also interchanges with BNSF in Sioux Falls, SD. The D & I teams with L. G. Everist, Inc. to accommodate their hauling needs. With extensive unit train experience and partnerships with BNSF, CN and UP Railroads, the
D & I can handle your rail transportation.
Myrl & Roy's Paving was founded by Myrl Unzelman and Roy Schultz, two hard working construction men that decided to take a chance and start their own paving company. That was in 1962. Now Myrl & Roy's Paving is the leading asphalt paving contractor in the Sioux Falls, SD metro area. Myrl & Roy's Paving continues to be locally owned and operated. The Myrl & Roy's Paving crews are comprised of well experienced and thoroughly trained operators and laborers that strive for the project owner's satisfaction.
Myrl & Roy's Paving utilizes high quality quartzite, washed sand and gravel aggregates to produce asphalt mixtures suited for placement on highways, streets, parking lots and areas that need patching. A stationary asphalt plant with three heated silos is located in east Sioux Falls. A mobile asphalt plant is available for projects requiring asphalt mix supply on a temporary basis. Myrl & Roy's Paving also operates multiple base and grading crews for paving project removals and preparation.
The truck fleet includes 30 plus end-dump trucks available to haul hot mix asphalt, side-dumps and belly-dump units for hauling aggregates. Myrl & Roy's Paving has the equipment to perform the work as it should be.
